Srinagar, Sep 16: A drug awareness programme was organised at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nawakadal, Srinagar, to sensitise students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote awareness against drug addiction.
Youth leader Tawab Aijaz attended the programme as the chief guest and called for coordinated efforts by educational institutions, parents, civil society and religious organisations to protect young people from substance abuse.
Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction and urged students to remain vigilant, avoid substance abuse and focus on education and constructive pursuits.
They stressed the importance of creating a supportive environment for young people and encouraging them to make responsible choices that contribute to their personal development and society at large.
The organisers said such awareness programmes would continue to be conducted as part of efforts to strengthen the anti-drug campaign and promote the message of a drug-free Kashmir.
