Sopore, Sep 13 : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar on Sunday reviewed the security and law and order situation in north Kashmir’s Sopore, directing security forces to intensify intelligence-based counter-terrorism (CT) operations against terrorists and their support networks.
During the review meeting, the IGP, as per the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), assessed the prevailing security scenario and operational preparedness of the police and other security forces in the area.
The top officer stressed the need to further strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure timely and effective action against terrorist elements and their support networks.
The meeting also focused on strengthening naka and interception mechanisms to effectively monitor and prevent suspicious movement in the area.
The IGP stressed operational readiness, close coordination and better synergy among security agencies to ensure a swift and effective response to emerging security challenges—(KNO)
