Srinagar, Apr 28: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted a week’s interim bail to Baramulla Member of Parliament Er. Rashid, allowing him to visit his ailing father who is undergoing treatment in hospital.
The MP had approached the High Court after a trial court declined his earlier plea for temporary relief. The High Court, while considering the request, took note of the health condition of his father and permitted his release for a limited period.
The court directed Sheikh to furnish a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh with one surety of the same amount as a condition for the relief.
The interim bail has been granted strictly for one week, following which Sheikh has been asked to surrender before the competent court in accordance with the terms laid down in the order.
